1 Kings 22:42 - Joseph Benson’s Commentary on the Old and New Testaments

Bible Comments

Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old, &c. The intention of the writer of this book was principally to give us the history of the kings of the house of David, with which he begins, and then interweaves with it some account of the kings of Israel. Thus having finished the history of Asa, king of Judah, he recounts the affairs of Israel under Ahab; who being dead, he returns to the history of the kings of Judah, who were the chief objects of his attention.
