Whose possessions were in Carmel In some part of this wilderness Israel wandered, when they came out of Egypt. The place would bring to David's mind God's care over them, which he might now improve for his own encouragement.

1 Samuel 25:2

2 And there was a man in Maon, whose possessionsa were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.
