The idolatry of Ahaz, 2 Kings 16:1-4. Being assailed by Rezin and Pekah, he hires Tiglath- pileser against them, 2 Kings 16:5-9. Causes an altar to be built in the temple, according to the form of one he had seen at Damascus, 2 Kings 16:10-16. Gives the treasures of the temple to Tiglath-pileser, 2 Kings 16:17; 2 Kings 16:18. Dies, and is succeeded by Hezekiah.
