2 Kings 25:5 - Joseph Benson’s Commentary on the Old and New Testaments

Bible Comments

The army of the Chaldees pursued after the king Intelligence was soon given of his flight, and which way he was gone, so that they soon overtook him. And all his army His guards; were scattered from him Every man shifting for his safety. Had he made his peace with God, and put himself under his protection, he would not have failed him now. It seems to have been the design of the king, and of those with him, to escape into Egypt through Arabia Deserta.

2 Kings 25:5

5 And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.
