For the oxen shook it There is perhaps no word about the signification of which commentators are more divided, than the word שׁמשׂו, shametu, here rendered shook it. Bochart and Waterland interpret it, The oxen stuck in the mire, or stumbled.

2 Samuel 6:6

6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
