Ezekiel 45:7,8 - Joseph Benson’s Commentary on the Old and New Testaments

Bible Comments

And a portion shall be for the prince on the one side, &c. One-half of the prince's portion was to lie on the west side of the three portions laid out for the priests and sanctuary, the Levites and city; and the other half to be on the east side of it, and to run parallel to them in breadth from north to south. And the length shall be over against one of the portions Or, as the words may be more intelligibly rendered, And the length shall be answerable to every one of these portions, both on the west border and on the east; that is, it shall run parallel with them, both on the east and west side. In the land shall be his possession in Israel Or, this shall be his possession of land in Israel. And my princes shall no more oppress my people As they formerly did: for which they are severely reproved: see the margin.

Ezekiel 45:7-8

7 And a portion shall be for the prince on the one side and on the other side of the oblation of the holy portion, and of the possession of the city, before the oblation of the holy portion, and before the possession of the city, from the west side westward, and from the east side eastward: and the length shall be over against one of the portions, from the west border unto the east border.

8 In the land shall be his possession in Israel: and my princes shall no more oppress my people; and the rest of the land shall they give to the house of Israel according to their tribes.
