Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak He was the high- priest, called Joshua, Haggai 1:1. And Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel That is, his grandson; for, properly speaking, he was the son of Pedaiah. And builded the altar of the God of Israel Which was of more present necessity than the temple, both to make atonement to God for all their sins, and to obtain God's assistance for the building of the temple, and to strengthen their own hearts and hands in that great work.

2 Then stood up Jeshuaa the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
