The word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time See note on Jeremiah 32:2. Jeremiah being forced out of the temple, God follows him to the prison, and there reveals his mind to him once and again. The wickedness of the Jews in persecuting the prophet could not make God's promises of no effect respecting mercy to be shown to the people after the captivity; which promises, though made before, are here confirmed a second time.
