If he will contend with him If God be pleased to contend with man, namely, in judgment, or to debate, or plead with him; he cannot answer him one of a thousand One accusation among a thousand which God might produce against him. So far would he be from being able to maintain his own innocence against God, if God should set himself against him as his adversary.
