The Israelites are separated from the mixed multitude, Nehemiah 13:1-3. Nehemiah cleanses the chambers of the temple, Nehemiah 13:4-9. He recovers and secures the portion of the priests and Levites, Nehemiah 13:10-14. Contends with the nobles concerning the sabbath, and takes care for the due observance of it, Nehemiah 13:15-22. Restrains them from marrying strange wives, Nehemiah 13:23-31.
