He which testifieth these things Even all that is contained in this book; saith For the encouragement of the church in all her afflictions, and the warning of all her opposers and persecutors; Surely I come quickly To judge and punish all my enemies, and the enemies of my cause and people; and to establish my church in a state of perfect and everlasting happiness. The apostle expresses his earnest desire and hope of this, by answering, Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus Accomplish thy promises in order: and finally crown the faith, patience, and constancy of thy servants with eternal life.
