The feast of Pentecost, (Leviticus 23:15-22). The anti-type is the descent of the Holy Spirit to form the church. For this reason leaven is present, because there is evil in the church; (Matthew 13:33); (Acts 5:1); (Acts 5:10); (Acts 15:1). Observe, it is now loaves; not a sheaf of separate growths loosely bound together, but a real union of particles making one homogenous body. The descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost united the separated disciples into one organism. (1 Corinthians 10:16); (1 Corinthians 10:17); (1 Corinthians 12:12); (1 Corinthians 12:13); (1 Corinthians 12:20).
