2 Samuel 7:26 - Ellicott's Commentary On The Whole Bible

Bible Comments

Let thy name be magnified. — David here, in the true spirit of the Lord’s prayer, puts in the forefront of his petition the “hallowed be thy name;” and this is the striking feature of all his life, into whatever sins he may at times have been betrayed, that his main object was to live to the glory of God.

2 Samuel 7:26

26 And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
