Ephesians 2:13 - Ellicott's Commentary On The Whole Bible

Bible Comments

This verse speaks of the restoration of the heathen as taking place, first, “in Christ Jesus” — in virtue, that is, of union with Him through all the acts of His mediation; and next, “by the blood of Christ” — that is, through that especial act of mediation, which is emphatically an atonement for sin — such sin as St. Paul had been declaring above to be the cause of spiritual deadness. They had power now “to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus” (Hebrews 10:19).

Ephesians 2:13

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
