Exodus 29:21 - Ellicott's Commentary On The Whole Bible

Bible Comments

Take of the blood... and of the anointing oil. — The twofold sprinkling, with blood and with oil, denoted the necessity of a twofold holiness — that of justification by the atoning blood of Christ, and that of sanctification by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The anointing which is here spoken of seems to have been the only anointing received by the sons of Aaron. (See Leviticus 8:30.)

Exodus 29:21

21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.
