Hebrews 10:4 - Ellicott's Commentary On The Whole Bible

Bible Comments

This verse explains those which precede. No inconsistency really belonged to these sacrifices and this ceremonial, though so often repeated; for it was impossible that any such sacrifice should really remove sin. The offering was necessary, and it answered its purpose; but it could not remove the necessity for another and a better offering.

Hebrews 10:4

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
