Jeremiah 33:14,15 - Ellicott's Commentary On The Whole Bible

Bible Comments

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord... — The words are manifestly a conscious reproduction of Jeremiah 23:5-6. In “I have promised” we may indeed trace a distinct reference to that passage. Once more “the Branch of righteousness” (Isaiah 4:2; Isaiah 11:1) — the coming heir of the throne of David, the true King who is to execute judgment — is put forward, as seen in the vision of the prophet’s hopes.

Jeremiah 33:14-15

14 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
