And the Lord spake unto Moses. — Like the festivals of new year and the day of Atonement (see Leviticus 23:23; Leviticus 23:26), the feast of Tabernacles, which is discussed in Leviticus 23:34-43, is introduced by this special formula, thus indicating that it was a separate communication.
