Micah 6:14 - Ellicott's Commentary On The Whole Bible

Bible Comments

Thy casting down. — The Hebrew word is found only in this passage. It comes from an unused root, meaning to be void, empty. Hence it may be translated hunger.

Thou shalt take hold. — Thou shalt collect thy property for flight, to save it from the enemy; but in vain: it shall be captured.

Micah 6:14

14 Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.
