2 Kings 10:32,33 - Hawker's Poor Man's Commentary

Bible Comments

Here begins the melancholy history of Israel, leading to the Babylonish captivity. For though it was more than 300 years before that event took place, yet Israel's glory from this time began to grow dim. Idolatry prevailed: and the Lord visited their iniquities. This Elijah had foretold concerning Hazael. See 2 Kings 8:12-13.

2 Kings 10:32-33

32 In those days the LORD began to cutj Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;

33 From Jordan eastward,k all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.
