Matthew 17:3 - Hawker's Poor Man's Commentary

Bible Comments

"And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him."

Moses and Elias were seen, and it should seem were known by the Apostles, though the former had been dead fifteen hundred years, and the latter near nine hundred. I think we may safely infer from hence, that the Church of Christ are well known to each other in the several members of Christ's mystical body, and they who sleep in Jesus, as well as those alive in Jesus, have communion with their glorious Head. Sweet consideration to the believer. 1 Thessalonians 4:13, etc. Romans 14:8.
