However uninteresting this account of names may seem to the Reader, yet spiritually considered, may it not serve to teach the happiness of those whose names are written in the book of life. Reader! depend upon it, the Lord knoweth them that are his. And if the Lord said to Moses, I know thee by name, and thou hast found favour in my sight; let no one doubt but that his people are all brought into the same account. Consult these sweet scriptures, Luke 10:20; Philippians 4:3; Revelation 21:27; Revelation 21:27.

Numbers 1:16-17

16 These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
