Some observations have been already made upon the watchmen finding the Church. Song of Solomon 3:3. So that on that part I need not enlarge. But by wounding her; and the keepers of the walls taking away her vail from her, it may be proper to add a little by way of explaining. If the watchmen here spoken of were intended to represent the Lord's faithful servants, perhaps by those expressions are intended to show that they did not spare sharpness of speech, but admonished her of her improper conduct, and took away all the covering of excuse.
