shut up, or left. Hebrew. az. b, is. Homonym, with two meanings: (1) to leave, or forsake, Genesis 2:24; Genesis 39:6; Nehemiah 5:10; Psalms 49:10. Mai. Deuteronomy 4:1. (2) To help, restore, strengthen, shut in, or fortify, as in Exodus 23:5; 1 Kings 14:10; 2 Kings 14:26; Nehemiah 3:8; Jeremiah 49:25. See the notes on these passages.
