Numbers 10:36 - Bullinger's Companion Bible Notes

Bible Comments

These two verses are marked Hebrew Manuscripts by "inverted Nuns", i.e. the Hebrew letter (n) inverted and used as brackets, to show that Numbers 10:35 and Numbers 10:36 are thus enclosed to show that Numbers 10:34 should follow Numbers 10:36. This is shown by the Structure:

33. The setting forth of the ark. 35. "Rise up,. Jehovah" Words 36. "Return,. Jehovah" Spoken. 34. The setting forth of the cloud.

There are eight of these inverted nuns. See notes on Psalms 107:23-28.

Return. Either, Return,. Jehovah; or, Cause to return. Compare Deuteronomy 30:3.Psalms 14:7; Psalms 126:1. The former better. Compare Exodus 33:14-16.

Numbers 10:36
