seventh month. Hebrew name Tisri not known in Scripture (our Sept.. Oct.) The old civil year went out (Exodus 23:16; Exodus 34:22), known as Ethanim (1 Kings 8:2). Tisri. the first month of civil year. Nisan, or Abib. the first month of sacred year.
