Samuel also said unto Saul, in delivering to him the Lord's commission, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over His people, over Israel; now, therefore, hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord. As the king of Israel by God's direct selection, Saul was bound to carry out the commands of God, the real King of His people.
