After these things and the establishment thereof, after the true worship of Jehovah had been reestablished and properly regulated by Hezekiah, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, came and entered into Judah, on a campaign of conquest, and encamped against the fenced cities, the fortified towns, especially along the frontier, and thought to win them for himself, literally, "to break into them," to conquer and subdue them.
