Now, when Solomon had made an end of praying, and in response to his appeal, the fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, which had been prepared beforehand; and the glory of the Lord filled the house, with a supernatural brilliancy, both of these manifestations showing God's approval of Solomon's dedicatory prayer and of the entire festival.
