Amos 1:1 - The Popular Commentary by Paul E. Kretzmann

Bible Comments

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen, a man who owned and tended sheep, of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel, chiefly with regard to the northern kingdom, in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the second of that name, the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake, an event of some importance in the history of that century. Cf Zechariah 14:5.
