Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, the great Persian king known in secular history as Xerxes, ( this is Ahasuerus which reigned from India even unto Ethiopia, over a large part of Asia and the northeastern part of Africa, over an hundred and seven and twenty provinces, the larger divisions of the empire, known as satrapics, being, in turn, divided into smaller sections,)
