Then the Philistines, in order to take revenge for the slaughter inflicted upon them by Samson, went up, taking the field against Israel, and pitched in Judah, encamped in the territory of this tribe, and spread themselves in Lehi, probably on the road leading to the highlands of Judah from the southwest.
