That he may prepare thus a people for the Lord, the apostle shows by what means they and we may escape. Pray in faith unto him. The name is that whereby any one is known; and the Lord's name is his attributes, goodness, power, wisdom, faithfulness, &c. The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe, Proverbs 18:10.
