By the right hand of God, that is, by the power of God spoken after the manner of men, the right hand being that we commonly do any thing with. Some read at the right hand of God; and then the apostle preaches Christ's ascension too, and his being justified by God, though he had been condemned by men. Having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost: Psalms 68:18 Which ye now see, in the fiery cloven tongues; and hear, in the divers languages which are spoken.
