Deuteronomy 15:10 - Matthew Poole's English Annotations on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

Thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him, i.e. thou shalt give not only with an open hand, but with a willing and cheerful mind and heart, Romans 12:8 2 Corinthians 9:9, without which thy very charity is uncharitable, and not accepted by God, who requires the heart in all his services. In all that thou puttest thine hand unto, i.e. in all thy works, as before, for the hand is the great instrument of action.

Deuteronomy 15:10

10 Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.
