Ezekiel 13:8 - Matthew Poole's English Annotations on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

The whole verse speaks the dreadful anger of God against those false prophets. It is unspeakable wrath, and we are left to guess at it by the manner of speech here used, which is minatory, Ezekiel 21:3, Ezekiel 26:3, concealing the greater part intended; an aposiopesis. I am against you: this is more particularly exemplified in the next verse.

Ezekiel 13:8

8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.
