Ezekiel 4:11 - Matthew Poole's English Annotations on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

Water; not wine or cordial drinks, but cold and thin water, nor a bellyful of this. The sixth part of an hin; about six ounces of water, and that measured out by others to him that drinks it, scarce enough to keep the man alive. Such proportions of bread and water rather fed death than the man, yet more could not be had when the besiegers were masters of both fields and fountains, and cut off all from the city.

Ezekiel 4:11

11 Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink.
