Upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill; which are commonly dry and barren, and destitute of rivers. In the day of the great slaughter; when God shall destroy the enemies of his people, he will shower down his blessings upon his church. The towers; either properly, the towers of Babylon, for which she was famous; or metaphorically, the high and mighty potentates, which fought against God's people, as Isaiah 2:15.
