Even when he feels no evil, he is tormented with perpetual fears and expectations of it from the sense of his own guilt, and of God's all-seeing eye and righteous judgment. See Leviticus 26:36 Deuteronomy 28:65. Shall come upon him; or, shall invade and destroy him suddenly and unexpectedly; which is a great aggravation of it.
