Of Nicodemus we read, and of his coming by night to Jesus, 1 Thessalonians 3:1,2. He now, being one of this great court, stands up to speak for Christ, yet faintly, or at least very prudently and warily. He saith no more for him than he ought to have spoken for the greatest malefactor, viz.
