Sit at meat in the idol's temple— Entertainments among the heathens commonlyconsistedofwhathadbeensacrificedtotheirfictitiousdeities;fromwhich, however, the truly pious among Christians religiously abstained, even when most rigorously imposed; and no doubt the Apostle's decision here had great weight with them.
