When we might have been burdensome,— The Apostle particularly refers to the right he had of being maintained at their charge. See 1 Thessalonians 2:9. 2 Corinthians 11:9. 1 Timothy 5:18, and 1 Corinthians 9. Vitringa, however, would render it, when we could have taken much [authority] upon us.
