Hold fast the form of sound words,— Hold fast in faith and love, &c. the form of sound words, &c. Bengelius. Retain well the idea of salutary doctrine which you have learned of me, concerning Christian faith and charity. Heylin. The word 'Υποτυπωσις, rendered form, signifies sometimes the same with the word τυπος; that is, a plan, model, or pattern; in which sense it may be understood here. See Romans 6:17.
