Acts 10:3 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

About the ninth hour of the day— That is, about three o'clock in the afternoon, at the time of theevening sacrifice. See Daniel 9:21; Daniel 9:27. Perhaps Cornelius might be praying for the coming of the kingdom of the Messiah, when the Gentiles were to be accepted as the people of God; for there was then a general expectation that this kingdom would appear. In Acts 10:31 his particular prayer, which he was offering up at that time, is said to have been heard.

Acts 10:3

3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
