A ship of Alexandria sailing, &c.— Or, Bound for Italy, and put us on board. There was a great trade carried on between Alexandria and the coasts of Italy, consisting chieflyof the produce of Egypt, and of Persian and Indian goods. The usual ports for this traffic were in Italy; and the Alexandrians were indulged with a particular privilege to engage their commerce.

6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
