Haggai 2:19 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

Yea, as yet the vine, &c.— Have the vine, &c. yet brought forth nothing. Houbigant. From this day have I blessed you. The prophet makes a comparison between the dearth which preceded the building of the temple, and the fertility following, while the temple was building; and if there were not a present fertility, and already begun, there could be no place left for a comparison.

Haggai 2:19

19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
