When Ephraim saw his sickness, &c.— Houbigant translates this verse throughout in the future. Ephraim shall see,—shall go, &c. and instead of king Jareb, he reads, to the king his avenger; meaning the Assyrian, Tiglath-Pileser, before mentioned.
