Thy calf, O Samaria— Houbigant reads these verses thus: Mine anger is kindled against them: when will they attain to innocency? Thy calf, O Samaria, shall be cast off: It had Israel for its founder: the workman made it; nor is it a god. Therefore the calf of Samaria shall be consumed in the fire.
