Hosea 9:6 - Coke's Commentary on the Holy Bible

Bible Comments

The pleasant places, &c.— The precious things which they had purchased for silver. The words are obscure; but the meaning seems to be, that the Israelites, upon the approach of the enemy, should bury in the earth the more valuable parts of their furniture.

Hosea 9:6

6 For, lo, they are gone because of destruction:b Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
