The Lord God hath opened mine ear— An open ear signifies a mind prompt and ready to receive, understand, and distinguish, the doctrines which are taught it, and to obey the commands which are carried through the ears to the mind. See chap. Isaiah 42:18. The completion of this and the following verses, in the Messiah, is too evident to need pointing out.
